THE WA Amateur Football League is in mourning with the passing of one of its great players and administrators, Jack Carey. Jack started his football career in 1946 with the original but now defunct East Fremantle Amateur Football Club, playing over 150 games before retiring in the late 1950's. A member of the 1948 State Carnival Team, Jack was known as an excellent mark and accurate kick, sometimes playing as a small forward but mostly as a rover.
