West Coast and Cottesloe through to Women’s Grand Finals

West Coast are the first side through to the WAAFL Women’s A Grade Grand Final after defeating Curtin Uni Wesley in Semi Final 2 on Saturday night.

The match played under lights at Lightning Park, Noranda saw West Coast claim a 5.5 (35) to 1.5 (11) victory.

Heading into the match Curtin Uni Wesley were undefeated so far this season with their last match against West Coast ending in a draw.

Despite the loss Curtin Uni Wesley will have a second attempt at making this year’s Grand Final as they face University in the Preliminary Final this weekend.

Earlier in the night Cottesloe defeated Rossmoyne to advance straight through to the B Grade Grand Final.

It was a close contest throughout with just one point separating the two sides at half time and two points at three quarter time.

It was no surprise this match was close with Rossmoyne claiming the win by just one-point last time they met.

A 2.1 to 1.1 final quarter saw Cottesloe claim a 3.5 (23) to 2.2 (14) victory.

In Semi Final 1 Nollamara defeated Cockburn Lakes by 15 points to set themselves up for a preliminary final clash against Rossmoyne this Saturday.
