Mid-Season Provides Crucial Top Three Clashes

The Sunday Football League heads into round ten with three important games for the top three sides in the League competition.

Top of the table Maddington will face off against the winless Tigers in a game that will tighten Maddington’s grip on first place should they win.

Maddington won the two team’s last encounter in round three at Maddington Oval 14.16 (100) to 7.9 (51), and have won their games this season by an average margin of 25 points.

Maddington are sitting first on the SFL League ladder, having only lost once this season to Kenwick in round seven, and are seeking to win a second consecutive SFL premiership.

Third placed Kenwick are looking to defeat sixth placed Armadale when the two clash this weekend at Gwynne Park.

The last time the two teams met, Kenwick defeated Armadale 12.17 (89) to 5.7 (37) in round three at Mills Park.

Kenwick have lost only one game this season, sitting third on the ladder due to their two byes earlier in the season, with a higher percentage than first placed Maddington and have won their games by an average margin of 30 points.

Kenwick looks set to overtake Gosnells in second place should Kelmscott defeat them this Sunday.

Gosnells has lost twice this season, to top of the ladder Maddington in round five and third placed Kenwick in round six.

Last time Gosnells played Kelmscott, they won 18.6 (114) to 14.13 (97) in round three at Gosnells Oval.

This season Gosnells is averaging 124 points per game, kicking an average of 18 goals per week and winning their games by an average margin of 55 points.

Armadale and Kenwick play at Gwynne Park, Kelmscott and Gosnells at John Dunn Oval and the Tigers and Maddington clash at Wyong Reserve, with all games at 2.30pm on Sunday.
