Match of the Week – Coastal Titans v South Fremantle

This weeks’ Key Start Home Loans Match of the Week takes a different look for Round 13 as the focus turns to the Western Australian Women’s Football League and in particular, Coastal Titans and South Fremantle.
The WAWFL has been Western Australia’s premier women’s football competition for over 20 years and after hosting this years’ Women’s AFL National Championships the competition is booming with both talent. Two of the stand out clubs of the competition in Coastal Titans and South Fremantle are set to clash this weekend, only a couple of weeks out from finals, in what promises to be a season defining game.
South Fremantle currently sit in top position on the ladder having suffered only one loss for the year all the way back in Round one to third placed Joondalup, going on an 11 game winning streak since then including a victory over second placed Coastal Titans. The Titans have only suffered two losses, both at the hands of the ladder leaders.
With both sides sitting so close on the ladder a win would be worth double heading into the last rounds of the season, giving either side a one game break and in prime position to claim the minor premiership.
The match has been given the attention it deserves, taking full advantage of Subiaco’s WAFL fixture and being played at one of Western Australia’s finest sporting venue’s Medibank Stadium, with the match kicking off at 4pm following Coastal Titans vs Southern River at 2.
