Champions Crowned at Medal Presentation Dinner

MOUNT Lawley midfielder Clinton Gribble was crowned the A Grade Fairest and Best and awarded the CJ Jamieson Medal at the 2011 Medal Presentation Dinner at Burswood Entertainment Complex last night.



The event, hosted by Clint Wheeldon, saw the fairest and best players from 25 grades crowned champions, culminating in the C.J Jamieson Medal being awarded to the A Grade Fairest and Best Clinton Gribble.

Gribble, an ex-Swan Districts player, polled eight votes in the final four games of the season to take the award on 19 votes ahead of Matthew Breen and Steven Wood, both from University, who finished on 17 votes.

Also among those acknowledged on the night were the six WA Amateur League Footballers who were awarded All Australian Selection by the Australian Amateur Football Council. Joe Boys (North Beach), Josh Stott (North Beach), Cale Potts (North Beach), Michael McCaan (North Fremantle), Cameron Manuel (Swan Athletic) and Curtis Jack (Kalamunda) were acknowledged for their outstanding efforts at the AAFC National Carnival, with Joe Boys being awarded the Laurie Tetley Award for best player throughout the program.

SNESA was awarded the Champion Colts Club award, while Ocean Ridge took home the Ron Webster Memorial Champion Club Award for 2011.
