Amateurs appoint board members at AGM

THE WA Amateur Football League appointed a new board member at the recent 2009 AGM, with Peter D’Allasandro elected to a three year term.

D’Allasandro joins the board after a successful stint at West Coast Cowan Amateur Football Club as both a player (2000 – 2005) and committee member (2004 – 2008), including representing the club as Vice President.

Also up for election at the 2009 AGM was the position of WAAFL President, which John Davies again won after running unopposed. The three year term will be Mr Davies’ sixth consecutive term as President after his first appointment to the position in 1996.

Joining Davies in re-appointment on the board was Milton Sanders, who along with D’Allasandro, was elected for a three year term. The new term will see Sanders remain a member of the WAAFL board until 2012, 25 years after his first appointment in 1987.

Wayne Molly, who replaced Brett Fullarton after he went on to become a Commissioner at the Western Australian Football Commission in 2008, also had his position on the WAAFL board endorsed by the clubs at the AGM.

Molloy received a three year term and is due for re-election in 2012.

The full WAAFL board is now as follows:

John Davies (President), Trevor Howard (Vice President), Bruce Wainwright, Bill Armstrong, Peter Grosser, Mark Herron, Graham Hill, Wayne Molloy, Milton Sanders, Peter D’Allasandro.
