A Grade Grand Final – Saturday 21 September

University and Fremantle CBC will battle it out in the A Grade Grand Final this Saturday 21 September at Steel Blue Oval, Bassendean.
University finished second on the ladder with Fremantle CBC finishing third as the finals series saw reigning premiers Scarborough bow out in straight sets.
University made their way into their first grand final since 2015 defeating Fremantle CBC and Scarborough in the finals series. Fremantle CBC on the other hand made their second Grand Final in a row by defeating North Fremantle and Scarborough.
University’s last A Grade premiership was in 2015 after claiming four premierships in five years in the top division. They are no strangers to A Grade Grand Finals having won 19 A Grade flags.
Fremantle CBC last tasted A Grade success back in 2000 and won’t want a repeat of last year’s final where they were defeated by 46 points.
Before University took out the Qualifying Final two weeks ago the sides had met twice during the home and away season with both games decided by less than a goal and the tally at one game each.
In the A Reserves North Beach are looking for a three peat as they come up against University.
North Beach finished on top of the ladder for the third season in a row with just one loss for the home and away season. Their finals campaign saw them defeat University in the Semi Final to advance straight through.
University finished the season in third spot with four losses for the home and away season. They defeated Fremantle CBC twice in the finals series to advance through.
University last featured in an A Reserves Grand Final in 2016 where they were victorious over North Beach.
University will not feature in the Phil Scott Colts Grand Final for the first time in six years with the side dominating the Phil Scott Colts division winning five of the past six premierships.
This year will see Fremantle CBC and North Beach go head to head at 10.00am. North Beach made the Phil Scott Colts last season with their last premiership in 2016. Fremantle CBC will be looking for their first Phil Scott Colts premiership with the side last making the Grand Final in 2010 where they were defeated convincingly by Trinity Aquinas.
Fremantle CBC defeated North Beach and University to make their way into the Grand Final while North Beach defeated Wanneroo and University to advance through.
