Wembley’s Blue Magpie Day Raises Funds for MND

This year the Wembley Football Club’s annual Ladies Day event was rebranded the “Blue Magpie Day” in aid of the Motor Neuron Disease Association of WA.

This event was the brainchild of one of the clubs former Presidents whose father passed away in 2021 after a long battle with the illness.

Sarah Willey and Anne Northall from MND WA attended the event presented information about how Motor Neuron Disease affects people and their families and how the club’s donations are distributed to assist those in need.

Prior to the match the Men’s B Grade league team were presented with their new blue, white and black jumpers to link in with the MND WA colours.

With over 100 women in attendance during the day; the event was an outstanding success. With many businesses donating prizes, food, and decorations to support the worthwhile cause. The ladies from MND WA also brought along merchandise which was eagerly purchased by the ladies in attendance.

Following the event Wembley will be making a donation of $2450 to MND WA in support of their work.
