Wanneroo Pink Ladies Day
18 May, 2012
A new-look Wanneroo Amateur Football Club will take to the Wanneroo Showgrounds next Saturday, May 26, as the C1 team don pink jumpers in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Now in its second year, the Wanneroo Amateur Football Club will join forces with the Joondalup Women’s Football Club and host a fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation dubbed “Pink Ladies Day”.
On the field the C1 team will take to the field in specially designed pink jumpers, while off it, ladies will be able to enjoy the festivities with all proceeds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Entry to the “Pink Ladies Day” will be $10, which includes a complimentary drink, food, entry into the door prize raffle and your guide to Wanneroo’s “Hottest Footy Home Boy”.
Following the Wanneroo C1 match, Joondalup Falcons Women’s FC will take to the field at 5:30pm to battle Swan Districts FC in an attempt to claim 3rd position on the ladder.
After 5 rounds of the WA Women’s Football League, the Joondalup Falcons are sitting fourth on the ladder, one game clear of both South Fremantle and Peel who are all in a tight contest to finish in the top four and make finals for the 2012 season.
The inaugural “Pink Ladies Day” in 2011 saw nearly $1,500 raised from the 300 attendees and the Wanneroo Amateur Football Club expects that figure to increase in 2012.
The “Pink Ladies Day” function starts at 1:30pm, with the Wanneroo C1 match against Melville at 2:30pm and the Joondalup match against Swan Districts at 5:30pm
