Community Accelerator Program
The Community Accelerator Program is a targeted development program that is open to Junior Community Field Umpires who want to develop their knowledge, skills, and experience.
Umpire Uniforms
- All Umpires will wear the green ISC Umpire shirts and socks.
- 2025 will be a transition season
- All WA Football – Umpiring appointed Umpires will wear the official ISC shorts.
- Club appointed Umpires can either wear grey or black shorts.
- Umpiring shirts together with other on-field apparel can only be purchased from ISC at https://iscsport.com/wafl-umpires/pfl-umpires
(Note – sizing tends to be a tighter fit.)
Frequently Asked Questions
What umpiring roles are available?
- Field Umpire – Be in the heart of the game, officiate the laws of the game, ensuring fair play.
- Boundary Umpire – Moves along the boundary, judging whether the ball is out of bounds or out on the full, and returns the ball to play with a throw-in.
- Goal Umpire – Are responsible for deciding if a goal or behind has been scored, signalling the score and recording it on your goal cards.
- Umpire Coach – Help mentor new umpires and guide them to success.
How do I get started in umpiring?

What are the requirements to umpire?
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are key. After registering, you’ll be expected to:
- Register on our online Umpires database, Officials HQ (its’ free and easy)
- Have a valid Working With Children (WWC) check.
What coaching will I receive?
You can train weekly with your local umpiring club to develop your skills. We also have Coaches & Mentors who provide on-site feedback during match days, especially during your first few games.
How much does it cost to umpire?
Umpiring itself is free. Weekly training sessions come at no cost. The only initial expense is the uniform, but you’ll quickly earn this back within 2-3 games.

The event continues to be a key fixture on the League calendar, celebrating community football while providing valuable networking opportunities for attendees. Guest speakers will be announced shortly, with further event details to follow.

PFL State Teams v WA Country
On Friday night, 19th June the PFL State Team Men and Women will both take on the WA Country State teams. This will be the first time in history that both the Men and Women will play on the same night.
After the PFL State Team Men have beaten the Victorian Amateur Football Association’s “Big V” two years running, it’s now time to look to conquering our WA Country counterparts.
PFL State Team Women have fallen agonisingly short in 2025, after a draw in 2024, and will be looking to atone this June.
Make sure you’re at HIF Health Insurance Oval, Joondalup, to witness history!
