Perth Football League Supports Buti Book Sale

Perth Football League’s is supporting Minister for Finance, Lands, Sport and Rec, Citizenship and Multicultural Interests Dr Tony Buti MLA as he continues to raise money for women’s refuges through his second-hand book sale. Perth Football League will support Minister Buti through collecting second-hand books at the A Grade Grand Final running collection points at the entrance of Bassendean Oval with the support of Constrauction Training Fund staff who will be both collecting books and handing out free career advice to those considering a career in construction.

Minister Buti thought it was fantastic that the Perth Football League had jumped onboard this worthy cause “Last year our book sale raised close to $7,000 for Starick but we definitely require more books this year to surpass that amount. The opportunity to partner with the Perth Football League is huge because it is one of the premier grassroots organisations in the state and has a massive catchment of players and broader community members through their 70 clubs.”

All books donated and collected this year will be delivered to Minister Buti’s Armadale Office for the mid October book sale. All proceeds raised from the Booksale are then delivered to Starick – a charity that supports women and children escaping domestic violence and runs refuges through the eastern metropolitan corridor. For more info head to www.starick.org.au

“With the Perth Football League having great access to 12,500 male and female players, the Perth Football League thinks that Starick and domestic violence awareness and prevention is relevant to our network and encourages everyone to support this cause” said Perth Football League General Manager David Armstrong.

Donations of unwanted books are asked and please not to be magazines, DVD’s or encyclopedias.

Collection Dates are as follows: –

18 September – A Grade Grand Final (10am – 3pm) Bassendean Oval – Drop books at CTF vehicle positioned at either entrance on entering the ground.

If you would like to get involved here is how you can help.
