Perth Football League Appoint New Board Members

The Perth Football League is excited to announce the appointment of Samantha Reece and Danielle Davison to its Board.

As the single largest Australian football competition in WA, the Perth Football League rebranded from the WA Amateur Football League in 2019. The League now comprise 66 clubs, 261 teams and 10,485 men and women who play community based Australian football in the Perth metropolitan area.

On their appointment, League President Sam Birmingham said that Samantha and Danielle will provide marketing and strategy expertise leading into the League’s 100th year celebration in 2021.

“The League is in a strong position. We have seen the growth of womens football and continued support for All Abilities football exceed expectations”, he added. “But we still have our challenges and Samantha and Danielle’s appointment will lead us to develop strategies to ensure we remain relevant for the next 100 years”.

Samantha Reece

Samantha is both qualified and highly experienced in marketing and business growth with over 25 years’ experience representing national companies such as Leading Edge Chain, Fuji Film and Retravision as well as local companies such as Stockland, Peet and Fini Developments. Her career spans roles in business development, marketing and public relations. She currently owns and runs Catalyst2Success engaged by companies and small business centres on developing marketing strategies and business management. Samantha currently volunteers her expertise on the Board of Freo Now and has previously been a Board member of Youth Focus.

Danielle Davison

Danielle’s professional background is a rare mix of commercial, residential, industrial and land development experience. Previous roles at DMG Property, ABN Group and Frasers Property Australia has involved multiple project and business branding and rebranding exercises with extensive experience in project marketing. Specific strengths include market positioning, strategy formation and execution, as well as strong and astute financial analysis, and risk mitigation strategy development. Danielle is a previous volunteer Board member of Women’s Health and Family Service.
