Milestone for Scarborough Legend

Colin Bettles from Scarborough Amateur Football Club will become the club’s games record holder this weekend (5th July) when he plays his 314th game in a career spanning some 20 years.?
Colin started playing with Scarborough way back in 1988 under colts’ coach Roy Scheltens and his involvement since then has involved coaching, Vice President, social committee as well as sponsorship.
Colin’s career has many highlights including B Reserves Premiership team in 2003; Fairest & Best 4 times; Leading goal kicker 7 times in ’94, ’95, ’97, ’98, ’02, ’03 and 2007, to name just a few of his achievements.
“Colin Bettles epitomizes the values of a great Club person and servant,” noted Scarborough President, Greg Bryant. “He has given the Scarborough Amateur Football Club great service both on and off the field and is always ready to “answer the call” when his Club needs the help of a loyal and devoted member. I value his opinions in the management of the Club because his commitment is unconditional. Congratulations Colin on this achievement – the games record is in very good hands and I am proud to acknowledge your feat.”
