Match of the Week – Warnbro V Mosman Park

The Keystart Home Loans match of the week for round eight of the WAAFL season is the C Black match up between Warnbro and Mosman Park at the Warnbro Sporting Complex.
Both Mosman Park and Warnbro have made huge turnarounds since last season, where they finished the year seventh and ninth respectively on the C Grade league ladder.
In 2008 the Swans’ league team won just five out of 18 games, compared to this year where they sit third with five wins from only seven games.
Similarly Mosman Park are now sitting second with just one loss for the season, a long way from their 2008 campaign that saw them win just seven times.
Mosman Park are sitting second, one game above the Swans and one behind the undefeated Kalamunda.
Their first and only loss of the season came in the first round against Kalamunda at Ray Owen Reserve by 44 points.
Warnbro’s last loss this season was in round three, against WAAFL newcomers Gosnells in a high scoring affair 14.13 (97) to 21.9 (135) at the ex-SFL team’s home ground.
In the reserves both teams have been less fortunate than their league counterparts with Warnbro sitting eighth on three wins, a record held by four other teams in the division, while Mosman Park’s reserves are sitting ninth, yet to win a game this season.
Last season saw Mosman Park win just one game ending the year last on the ladder, while the Swans’ reserves finished with one loss for the season en-route to defeating High Wycombe by 29 point to claim the 2008 C Reserve premiership.
Warnbro and Mosman Park go head to head on Saturday with the reserves game at 12.35 and the league match kicking off at 2.30pm at the Warnbro Sporting Complex.
