Match of the Week – Quinns District v East Fremantle

The round 17 Keystart Home Loans Match of the Week is the D Grade clash between Quinns District and East Fremantle.? Quinns District are yet to win a game whilst East Fremantle are in fourth and looking to consolidate that position and play finals.

Quinns District has had a disappointing 2008 season with injuries to key players and will no doubt be looking forward to their end of season trip before regrouping for a more successful 2009. East Fremantle’s position in the top half of the ladder is in no small part due to the well drilled game plan by first year coach Curtis Campbell and inspirational leadership by Neil Vaughan. Luke Gerhard, Greg Morrison, and Adam Hampel have had great seasons to date, but it is the even contribution across the board that has lead to greater success in 2008. The reserves have had a tough year but having found some form in the past month and will be confident of taking out this bottom of the table clash, whilst being very careful not to underestimate Quinns District who will be desperate to register their first win.

East Fremantle’s Greg ‘Mozza’ Morrison plays his 100th game this weekend, a fine achievement. The final round of the home and away season will potentially see three major milestones for the club with Patrick de Haan 250 games, Robert “Chook” Renton 300 games & Stephen “Garbo” Gillan 350 games.? In what promises to be a big game celebration, all past and present players and all supporters are encouraged to come down to Winnacott Reserve to cheer on the home side against Dianella Morley.

East Fremantle would like to thank its three main sponsors for their support, Action Workforce, Advanced Air & IB Roofing and a very special thanks to the fantastic committee and wonderful canteen ladies, Nicole and Mrs H.
