Match Of The Week – High Wycombe v Swan View

The Round 7 Keystart Home Loans Match of the Week is the C Grade contest at Scott Reserve between High Wycombe and Swan View.
High Wycombe is looking to atone for their disappointing 2007 season which caused a drop from B to C Grade by being competitive in all their matches this season.? The club is in a rebuilding phase and despite the drop in grade the club was able to pull big numbers in the off season that saw them reinstate a second team in the G Grade competition and maintain their core group of League players.
High Wycombe is keen to build on their 3-3 start and dropping games at home is not an option.? Testing their mettle against the top team is a welcome challenge.
Swan View’s unbeaten start to the season is a wonderful step up from their strong 2007 season, finishing in a C Grade Preliminary Final. Confidence is high with the boys from the View, a genuine Premiership contender.? The reserves team has also started the season in sparkling form with 4 wins from 6 starts.
Swan View’s success so far this season has come from a strong forward structure with two fit and firing key position players finishing off the good work of the new look midfield. Season ending injuries to Lukey Mac and Bakes will test the defensive depth of the team.? Losing key players is not ideal preparation but injuries can provide opportunities for Reserves players to press for League selection, thus placing pressure on everyone to hold their spot. The addition of Scaffaz, MoMo, Turtle, Guyzer and The Sweeney has allowed more team flexibility and greater rotations across the board is keeping all the players fresh.
High Wycombe will entertain 5 times Hawthorn Premiership player and AFL Legend Robert ‘Dipper’ Dipierdomenico on the 14th June. Tickets available for $20, please contact Julie on 0410 427 872 for more information.? For all club information please log onto the club website www.hwafc.org.au
Swan View is now taking reservations for the Bus Night on June 28th, numbers are limited. In July Swan View will acknowledge the 10th Anniversary of the tragic passing of Bruno Farina. The boys who won the HFA flag that year in his honour will celebrate Bruno’s life with his family who will be visiting from the East Coast. The Bruno Farina Memorial game will be held at Brown Park on July 17th against Lynwood-Ferndale. The club will entertain all Life Members, families of deceased Members and Sponsors. Later that evening the Club will be holding its Auction and theme night with some great bargains on offer and a bit of fun to be had.?
High Wycombe and Swan View thank all members and sponsors for their continued support.
