Gosnells Duo Earn Life Membership

MATTHEW Brooks and Luke Gibson played their 150th league games for the Gosnells Footbal Club last weekend, qualifying them for Life Membership of the club.

Matthew started his career in the colts in 1999 and quickly advanced to senior ranks, and has had a remarkable career, including winning 5 Tim Passmore Memorial Medals for the fairest and best player for the league.

He won an association award in the Sunday Football League for fairest and best player in 2004 and in the same year was named Footballer of the Year for Gosnells.

Luke started with the club in the reserves in 2003. Listed among Luke’s achievements are the Coaches Award in 2005 and Best Utility in 2006.

Both Matthew and Luke played in successful League Premiership Teams in 2008 and 2009.

Matthew and Luke are both great clubmen and are dedicated to the success of the club, their match day preparation is exceptional and they are role models to others.

The players from the reserves and club officials made a guard of honour as Matthew and Luke ran down the race and through a massive banner arranged with thanks to the Fremantle Dockers cheer squad and sponsored by the Bendigo Community Bank Gosnells.

It was a remarkable day of celebration for the Gosnells Hawks as 3 other players also celebrated milestone games in the reserves team. Paul Lennon reached 150 club games, whilst Matthew Hopewell and Bryan Ainsworth each played their 100th club game

The Gosnells Hawks football Club would like to thank Matthew Brooks, Luke Gibson, Paul Lennon, Matthew Hopewell and Bryan Ainsworth for their years of service to this fantastic club. These men are not only fantastic footballers they are fine young men and have served the club and community proudly.

Upcoming events for the Gosnells Football Club are a Gaming Night on Saturday 14 July and “Meet the Dockers Night” on Thursday 2 August both events at the club starting at 7pm.
