Fremantle CBC claim John Gilmour Medal at SportsWest Awards

Fremantle CBC AFC have been awarded the RAC Insurance Beyond Sport – John Gilmour Medal at the 2020 RAC SportWest Awards last night.

The John Gilmour Medal acknowledges clubs who in the past twelve months have assisted its members or the local community to positively overcome individual, family or community challenges or adversity.

Fremantle CBC were nominated for their program to support multicultural migrants to Australia through using football as a vehicle to engage and assist individuals to adapt to Australian life, find work and establish a community connection. The club has also lead the way in Integrated Football with two sides competing in the competition.

They claimed the award ahead of finalists the UWA Fencing Club and the Superfins WA.
