Finals on Cards for Kenwick

KENWICK moved one step closer to a C1 Division finals appearance on Saturday, defeating Lynwood Ferndale by 49 points after a surge of goals in the last quarter.
The win puts the Royals in fifth position, one game clear of sixth placed Bassendean after Bassendean fell to Coolbinia West Perth by nine points.
In Callan Martin’s 100th appearance for the club, Kenwick’s defence withstood large amounts of pressure from during the first half, while their attack piled on four goals in the second term to take a 16 point lead into the main break.
Lynwood finally broke through in the fourth term, kicking four unanswered goals to take a two point lead before Dylan Hansen took mark of the day to swing the momentum back Kenwick’s way.
Kenwick maintained momentum throughout the final term kicking eight unanswered goals to run out eventual winners by 49 points.
Brock Tucker was excellent up front for Kenwick with four goals while Matthew Yappo, Shannon Penny and Chris Clarkson also played well.
The league win topped off a fantastic day for the club with the C1 reserves winning by 59 points, E Grade by 76 and Colts holding onto a five point win.
