Mental Health Resources

Your mental health deserves the same care and attention as your physical health, both on and off the field. In the past 12 months, one in five Australians has experienced a mental health condition, and among 16 to 24-year-olds, that number rises to two in five.

If your club has experienced a hardship or critical incident, clubs are encouraged to get in contact with the League’s Wellbeing Coordinator, Henry Beus, who will assist the club in navigating the time and providing resources

Tackle Your Feelings

The Tackle Your Feelings resources provide practical tools to help clubs better understand and respond to mental health challenges, with a strong emphasis on grief and loss. The platform includes guidance on recognising grief, supporting others through bereavement, managing your own grief, and navigating grief after suicide, alongside broader wellbeing templates and frameworks to help clubs build a mentally healthy environment.

Our Member Assistance page outlines the confidential support services available to players, coaches, volunteers and members, providing access to professional help for personal, mental health and wellbeing concerns.

The Program offers up to three (3) confidential counselling sessions per member each year with qualified professionals.
