Bulls Turn Tables on University
02 Aug, 2011
MADDINGTON has upset second placed University by 2 points in wet conditions in last weekend’s A Grade fixture at Harmony Fields.
After losing by over 100 points the last time the two teams played, the Bulls signalled their intentions early, taking control from the first bounce.
At the end of the first quarter it was the Bulls who led by two goals, the second quarter was much the same and saw the Bulls ahead at the main break by a solitary goal.
In the third quarter Maddington stepped up the pace to power away from the fancied visitors, stretching the lead to almost four goals going into the last quarter.
In a nail biting last quarter University came back hard to try to snatch the win but Maddington held on by two points in front of their home crowd for their second win in a row and third for the season.
Best players on the day were Paul Wisby, Rob Davis and Shaun Clifford.
Next week the Bulls take on Wesley Curtin at South Oval.
