Amateur Legend to Play 350 Games
26 Jun, 2008
Local legend Paul Carlsen will pull on the boots this weekend for his 350th game of Amateur football. Having started his career at University and also having spent time at Belmont Districts, “Carly” will this weekend kit up with the Ocean Ridge Eagles in the G grade competition.
When questioned recently about his greatest playing highlight, Carly did not hesitate in responding with, “The 2006 C Reserves Premiership. It’s not very often you get to play with guys of the calibre like Jasp, Vicko and Katta. Without a doubt the highlight of my career”.
Anybody who is interested in viewing one of the last true hard men of amateur football, should head down to Heathridge Park this Saturday the 28th June to see Carly in his natural habitat, the football field.
The committee, members and supporters of the Ocean Ridge Amateur Football Club, sincerely thank Carly for his service over the years and congratulate him on another marvellous milestone.
