2026 PFL AGM Reflects on Progress, Stability and Strong Future

The Perth Football League Annual General Meeting was a night of reflection, recognition and forward momentum, as the League celebrated another significant year of growth across community football.

Board Stability and Leadership

A key highlight of the evening was the re-election of two current Board Members, Caitlin Spencer and Jonathan Small.

In addition, Geoff Glass and Danielle Cattalini were reappointed as Board-appointed members, further strengthening the experience and continuity within the leadership group.

These reappointments reflect both the stability and strength of the current Board, as well as the value of their extensive experience within community sport. With strong governance and a clear strategic direction, the League continues to benefit from a Board deeply committed to supporting Clubs and sustaining long-term success.

A Season of Impact

The evening provided an opportunity to reflect on a season that delivered meaningful progress both on and off the field.

Key initiatives and milestones from the past year included:

  • The implementation of Real Stakes, strengthening education around gambling harm awareness.
  • The rollout of Hudl cameras across the competition, strengthening integrity measures and enhancing club capability.
  • The launch of Beyond the Boundary, supporting Clubs to be season-ready beyond match day.
  • A historic NAB PFL State Team victory.
  • The hosting of an inaugural EGT Colts North v South clash.

Off-field wellbeing and support initiatives were also front and centre. The League’s Member Assistance Program continues to provide confidential and accessible support for players, coaches and volunteers, while Tackle Your Feelings club sessions have further embedded mental health education across the competition.

Growth Across the Competition

A comparison to 2019 performance figures showcased the scale of the League’s growth. Team numbers have increased significantly, with particularly strong expansion across women’s football and Colts competitions.

Commercial revenue growth was also highlighted, strengthening the League’s ability to reinvest in Clubs and competition delivery. Importantly, Club satisfaction levels remain high, reinforcing confidence in the current competition structure and overall direction of the League.

Looking Ahead

With a stable and experienced Board in place, continued participation growth and strong commercial foundations, the Perth Football League enters the new season well positioned for further progress.

The AGM reinforced a clear message: community football in Perth is thriving, and the League remains focused on building sustainable pathways, strong Clubs and an inclusive future for the game.
